Had 2001022800 browser open several hours doing nothing, then brought it up to play. Since installing this drop clean, had never opened anything but the browser. Clicked on news://news.mozilla.org/netscape.public.mozilla.qa.general on http://www.mozilla.org/quality/bug-writing-guidelines.html and got a bunch of disk activity, but no mailnews. So, I went to tasks - > mail. That started opening a mail window half offscreen, so as soon as I could I moved it onscreen, or at least I tried. Activity meter pegged, WarpCentre clock stopped, and nothing else was possible, at least not with the mouse. After a while of apparent death, I tried Ctrl-Esc, and up popped a profile manager window, apparently having been hidden under my attempt to move mail onscreen. Things are OK now, but I wish new windows would open onscreen by default. -- Like an earring of gold or an ornament of fine gold is a wise man's rebuke to a listening ear.
