Running 2001052506. Happened to click on the URL link to a PDF
file. Was surprised that:

  1. Mozilla downloaded the file to C: (where my TEMP points)
rather than to E: (where Mozilla resides, and where
      downloads would normally go.)

  2. Mozilla opened Acrobat Viewer for me to look at the
      downloaded file with.

What confuses me is that the __only__ entry in my helper_application
list is the (default) text/html one, and the only plugins I have are
NPOJI6 and NPNULOS2.

Did Mozilla use the OS/2 filetype_extension associations to decide
that the file could be passed to an application rather than being
saved_to_disk ? (If it asked me, I didn't pay attention -- I just
hit <enter> for whatever pop-up I saw.)

At a time long long ago I thought that for browsers to call an
application, there *needed* to be a matching entry in the helper-
applications list (or the proper plug-in had to be installed).
Does Mozilla invoke applications *without* having either of these ?
