I started from scratch again, but this time, to change the theme to
modern, I opened prefs and went to themes, applied modern, then hit OK
to exit prefs. So far, the back button continues to work.
However, its behavior leaves something to be desired. At
http://www.xfree86.org/FAQ/index.html, I click a FAQ topic and it takes
me to the QA. When done reading, I click the back button, wanting to
proceed from where I left off among the questions. Can't do that,
because it takes me to the top of the page instead of the position I
left from.
