p.s.  I *again* (__not__ the download whose status window I'm
      enclosing!) was "caught" by the Mozilla cache.  Clicked
      a link in a page to a program someone had just updated,
      and the "download" completed instantly.  Had to go into
      cache and clear it, then repeat the click -- this time
      the new version of the program (which had the same name
      as an old version I had previously fetched) downloaded
      from the website as it should have.
