What's so special about these apps that when they crash they take down the whole OS? Is there an X port of pmshell I can run on Linux? I thought the idea was to fix these things so frequent reboots wouldn't be necessary? Are you programmers rebooting all the time too?
Latest example: http://www.email.com/ (I think - too big a mess made to be sure there wasn't a redirect in there somewhere). I wanted to adjust my free email account to redirect mail sent there to my regular email account. When all the info was input into the form I pressed a button that said "update". Mozilla pegged activity meter, made the desktop fubar (merging 2.02, 4.61, 0.9.5 & WarpCentre in random fashion), and left nothing functional except CAD. -- "A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy."
