In the bad form of replying to myself; I've spent the last while
trying to compile Mozilla from an object directory now.

Things seem to go fairly well, though I still can't produce a complete
build. I've wandered back into the "failing" directories and manually
run gmake from there (which goes okay), but I can't seem to get the
whole part and parcel going.

Poking around a bit more, trying to get more info about what is
actually failing, I came across the use of the --debug flag when using
gmake. I think this might hint a little more at the problems I've
been having:

Live child 0x00120820 PID 20599
libxpt.lib
Reaping winning child 0x00120820 PID 20599

gmake.exe[4]: Leaving directory
`/PROGRAMMING/OBJMOZ/xpcom/typelib/xpt/src'

Would it be a failure to update the export file that is causing me the
grief? A file locked by some other process? I dunno yet, but it seems
like it gives me a little more to work with than I had before.
