Recently a series of vendor (vnd) MIME types have been giving me some
headaches. One example is happening with the Micro$oft MIME types. M$-Word
documents usually have the MIME type of "application/msword" but I have hit
other servers that will send these files with a MIME type of
"application/vnd.msword", "application/x-msword" or even
"application/x-msword-doc".

It seems that the creativity for naming MIME types will put us users in an
eternal chase game.

Is there a way to configure Mozilla to allow for a generic MIME parser that
would allow for sending all "application/*msword*" files to StarOffice?

Regards
