I ran into that problem some time ago. Corrected it by putting the file
into a hex editor and removing the last char (1A).
Then I found that the EE Editor added the char but E Editor did not.
Linked all my .js files to E.exe and all has been fine since.
I did download the latest versions of the E Editors, and neither one
adds the 1A char. My EPM editor did not add the 1A.... System editor
did....

My EE is version 2.4 and E is 2.3.
