I don't know why anyone gets excited about dnd. The only I ever use it for in 4.61 is to substitute for the missing 2.02 feature, open link in same window from right click menu. No way to open in same window without cut n paste to URL window, destroying the contents of the URL history by spilling out the things you want in there with things you dont'. Open in new tab is almost as good as a substitute for the open in same window tab.
