I had both mail and news disappear from my Mozilla installation (0.9.7 2001122123). I first tried to reinstall over the top of the old install (same ver). This did not recover the mail or news. I then deleted the old install and installed again. That worked :-). Mail & news are back and I'm posting from Mozilla now!
When installed the 1st time, I took the time to place my profiles outside the installation path. Thus the subsequent installs were painless (no migration req). I have no idea what happened or if there is anything concrete I can report (as far as bugs go, I mean). Has anyone else had a similar experience? Is there something I can do, or look for which may help determine what caused mail & news to disappear? TIA
