Hi Mike Sorry to have to ask but this has totally defeated me and the responses I've had to a previous post on this matter suggests other people have the same problem and no cure - see post "Build ID: 2002010719 inbox font problem".
I have a Netscape 4.61 profile "losepete" which I would like to use with mozilla. Mozilla imports this profile without any problems being displayed, mail and news settings are OK - on first use. On second use (ie have closed Mozilla and then restarted it later) my mail settings have been trashed. Some, but not all, of the mail folders have had the Default Character Code reset from Western (ISO-8859-1) to Arabic (IBM-864). Why? Mozilla 097 (all 3 builds I've tried, currently on Build: 2002011708) screws up the folders INBOX (but not the INBOX sub folders FESANE AND SIBYL), SENT and DRAFTS. In each case the Default Character Code has been reset to Arabic (IBM-864) from Western (ISO-8859-1). It is not possible to use the Properties for these folders to reset the Character Code as the OK Button does not work! Yes, I have tried reinstalling several times with each Build with exactly the same results. So, I am either doing something extremely wrong or my Netscape 4.61 INBOX has something weird in it that Mozilla 097 cannot handle - but Netscape has no problems with - or there is a serious problem with the Mozilla Mail Client. Any ideas? I have not had this problem with previous versions of Mozilla and 0941 works fine. Presumably 0941 and 097 will share the same mail folders without problems?
