I think a big part of the problem is POP vs IMAP . POP support isn't getting as much attention, and the new UI design really suits only IMAP. It's not logical in the POP model to do things in multiple small steps like it is in IMAP. FYI, I'm using Communicator for mail & news , both at home and work, not Mozilla. That should tell you something about what I think of the current Mozilla mail & news.
