Of the three links, I only saw the "jumpiness" on the second one. It seems to me that the page starts to be rendered before Mozilla knows the sizes of the images in it. Once the images start to render, the text is shuffled up, down left or right to accomodate the new spacing. I have also seen a poorly designed page where the stylesheet defined a slightly different font size for a.hover causing the page text to shift up and down depending on where the mouse was. The same behaviour was observed in Linux and Windows so it is definitely multiplatform.
