Keeping track of bookmarks may well be a task that people would like computers to perform. But can computers do a good enough job ? What I was pointing out is that currently the computer does not know WHY a particular bookmark is being kept. As I get older, I can no longer remember these WHYs for hundreds of bookmarks. Having the computer sort the bookmarks alphabetically, or by date of entry, does *not* help my own memory enough. Putting those bookmarks into an ORGANIZED structure, though, does help a lot. Now, if my computer were capable of organizing bookmarks by "what does the user find important here, such that he wants to make a record of this URL", then I would be happy to let the computer do it. But my computer is not that capable. And since I "scan" my bookmarks more often than I "add" to them, I'm willing to put in extra effort (even if manually) when I "add". I figure having the bookmarks well organized helps me save time and effort each time I refer to them. mikus
