Cancelling does not make the popup permanently go away - it keeps coming back! Trying to install is no good because the JRE being offered it available only for Windoze and Linux. I tried switching off Preferences | Advanced | automatic software install or something but that made no difference. The popup did permanently go away with previous versions.
