I wiped out my Mozilla directory tree and installed the new 1.1 again. Help - > About
Mozilla still showed ver. 1.1b, so I went searching possible causes. To my surporise I
found in prefs.js the following line that I know I never inserted:
user_pref("general.useragent.override", "Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US;
rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020724");
Did that get inserted by one of the nightlies, or . . .?
After removing that line, Help - > About Mozilla now shows ver. 1.1 with a date of
20020827.
I wonder what other potentially harmful lines are in my prefs,js file. Is there a list
somewhere of standard/required prefs.js entries?
