I think my first install attempt was messed up because I hurried it a little too much and just tried to install over the top of the old install of v1.2 with the 'update the product' option (which I have done in the past with apparently okay results). For the second attempt at install v2.0, I uninstalled the old v1.2, rebooted, and then installed the v2.0 and it seems to work just fine. Sorry if I caused any problems.
