I have this problem also.  I first appeard on my machine with the 
release of 1.0.  Don't try to remove the duplicates as they don't really 
exist.  This is an index bug.  When the number of duplicates get really 
annoying, find the index file for the folder and delete it.  Mozilla, 
all copies including turbo must be closed to do this.  Mozilla will 
rebuild the index the next time it starts.  It seem the duplicates are 
added whenever one compresses the folder.  Do that less often to avoid 
this bug.  Do a search of bugzilla for this bug.  It has existed long 
enought that it should be in there.
