It uses '>' for quoting instead of the blue bar in plaintext mails, but 
see below.....

You should use that pref with 2 others to make '>' quoting work

Quoting in mail/news (HTML and plain text) is FUBAR'd

I suggest that you go back to 2002-10-08-08 (that's the Windows build, 
so the nearest OS/2 one to that date).
