I think that if you are making a change to the status whiteboard it 
would proably be OK to clean up old cruft (no extra spam).  There may be 
folks relying on that cruft but that's the way the status whiteboard 
works :) It's like a whiteboard and things aren't permanent :)
Keywords are a little differnt.  I'd be very careful about removing 
keywords since users expect them to have some permanence.
