But the user agent spec on Mozilla.org does have different values for
the Mozilla/version part of the string which I assume is based on when
Mozilla was going to be called Mozilla 5.0, therefore just because we're
calling the browser Mozilla 1.0 doesn't mean we should keep the user
agent stuck on 5.0 all the time.
I'll take a look at the threads on .netlib see what's been discussed.
Perhaps an update of the specs is in order?
