maxlength attribute not working?

I cant seem to get the maxlength attribute for the <textbox> tag to work.
Cant seem to find it in bugzilla either. Here my tag

<textbox id="document" multiline="true" maxlength="30" rows="10" />

he text dont wrap to next line.
