Gerv, The primary problem I found was that at the end of the week there weren't any new people in the channel, just a bunch of experienced folks, and there was almost no action. Maybe future bug weeks could be bug weekends so the channel doesn't have time to devolve into a general channel? Other option is to have something like #mozstart where people could go to get started.
