Can Mozilla handle 3rd party HTTP authentication schemes?

First off, is support for Compuserve's "Remote-Passphrase"
authentication scheme removed completely?
Next, if we wish to add support for our own HTTP authentication scheme,
how would that be accomplished? Can HTTP authentication scheme modules
be configured with Seamonkey?
