The basic deal is that some protocols should not be allowed to run on 
some ports.  Without any checking someone could do all sorts of evil 
things - some of listed in the bug.  Most browsers have these kinds of 
checks: 4x did, classic does.  Now, today's mozilla's builds has the 
same checks.  


I will let mozilla-staff anwser questions about opening the security bug 
to the public.
