Mail Cerificates

Please help!!!!!!!!!
I am using Netscape v6.1b1 and cannot read my imported mail messages
from 4.77. I use a personal Verisign digital certificate to encrypt and
sign my messages.
If I look under preferences - security - I can see my Verisign digital
certificate listed.
But the error message is : This mail message is encrypted - Mozilla mail
does not support encrypted mail'
If somone can explain why this works in all the v4 versions but not in
v6 I would be appreciative.
