Don't panic. Someone's probably just browsing your network shares. Cable 
modems are like Ethernets - anyone on the same circuit can see all 
trafic bound for others' machines. You might want to disable file 
sharing. You might also want to invest in some personal firewall 
software - there are several good packages to choose from.

Just because you see your drive light blinking doesn't mean someone is 
attacking your computer - their computer could just be scanning the 
local network for active shares.
