Oh, I forgot to mention... I wouldn't want anyone to believe that I have
a freakin' 386 or something. Let's just say I can play Quake 3: Arena on
it, but I can't run Netscape 6 decently fast.

One hint: Q3A doesn't use multithreading. Oh yeah, it does, if you have
a dual processor machine it can use a *second* thread (whew!), but it
took an inane amount of wizard-level work to make it run AS FAST as the
single-threaded version, then even more work to get some performance
improvement.

Whew, I'm ranty/pissed today. I'll go do something about it...
