how to get started with XPCOM

I'm new to XPCOM.
Could you please drop me a simple example or URL link
how to connect to NN6 with C/C++
and track the browser URL requests.

What libraries should I use?
Should I use xptcall or can I connect directly through XPCOM?

I could not find any suitable documentation for these purposes.
Please help!
