I use the Russian Roulette method and just let it die every once in a while.
If you start creating objects from Javascript it is very easy to lose track
of where the creations are being done.

A much better fix would just be to fix CreateInstance. I have filed bugs on
the threadsafe issue. I have also looked at doing it myself but I don't feel
confortable mokeying around with a very core function in Mozilla.
