XPCOM Newbie - NS_GET_IID

is it possible to use NS_GET_IID on every interface ? i.e., does all the
interfaces defined in XPCOM have the GetIID method?
is it the responsibility of the interface creator to define the GetIID
method, or does we get it from the XPIDL?
