I am new to XPCOM, but have several years experience with Microsoft's COM/DCOM, etc. I'm being asked to develop a proof-of-concept application, in the next week or so, which requires that the client software obtain a socketed TCP/IP connection in order to communicate with a server. In addition, most of the data provided by the server consists of image files, which are to be displayed by the client. I note that several "Stream" interfaces are provided as are several that manipulate the Clipboard. I don't see any scriptable components that might help with the TCP/IP-sockets connection, however.
I have not been able to find any comprehensive documentation, outlining Interfaces by function, etc. Nor do I suppose that any "Viewers" have been written. If anyone on this NG has any useful information --especially regarding support for sockets, etc.-- please respond soon. Thank you, TomR
