I am Jo Ueyama, PhD student at Lancaster University in UK. Currently
I am working on XPCOM platform for Linux.
I've got the following questions regarding XPCOM. I'd be very
grateful if you can help me!
a) Do we need to link ContractID with a ClassID (for registering
purposes) in case we create a component using a ContractID through
CreateInstance? I am a bit confused 'cause MSCOM hasn't got ContractID
(?)
b) What would be the difference between the component manager and
the factory, since conceptually they can create objects?
c) What about the difference between repository and the registry,
since conceptually they both store component information.
