I'm interested to know more about the prototype and the XPCOM team's plans reguarding remote invocation. I read some comments in the IBM briefing on the XPCOM site about the differences between COM and XPCOM and the implication there was that XPCOM was developed with simplicity and performance in mind. (The implication being that the development required for remote invocation a la DCOM was not in the plans for XPCOM and in fact would signal a stepping away from XPCOM's goals.) Does the XPCOM group intend to develop a remote invocation capability for the future, or at this point is the prototype just a developmental curiosity? Rob [EMAIL PROTECTED]
