Mozilla 1.4 component fails in Netscape 7.1

What compatibility issues will I be dealing with when getting a working 
mozilla 1.4 xpcom component to work in Netscape 7.1?  I am a little 
frustrated when dealing with Netscape and it's "inabilities" to handle
working code from the mozilla source tree (specifically xpcom/sample) 
which I have modified to suite my needs.

What are the major differences between Mozilla 1.4 and Netscape 7.1?
