Keep in mind that this is a work in progress. Feedback is most welcome :-)
hi,
I was very interested to see this and subsequently had a bit of a poke around. Current cvs doesn't seem to work, Tests just hang getting ipcservice, even non-dconnect ones, linux build, I did have it working in the earlier 1.7 release (minus dconnect).
I have been experimenting with ways to attach XUL interfaces to an existing legacy piece of software. Running our legacy engine in its own process space is desirable. I see how we could do that using mozilla-ipcd and dconnect, however I was wondering if you had thought about doing something along the lines of proxys.
ie so one could create and access a remote component in a new (forked) process - no ipcd necessary
I guess most of what would be necessary for this must exist in some form. Would it be difficult? Is it a reasonable idea?
Any thoughts?
