xmlrpc server

hi, i'm making an xpcom based xmlrpc server to communicate with the 
nsIXmlRpcClient api. however, i've notice the socket behaviour is very 
inconsistent.  are there problems/concerns with thread-saftiness in the 
xpcom socket api?
