Hi all, I would like to know how to download and register a remote XPCOM component in the components/ directory. I have read up on this issue, but I have not found any answer. What I would like to do is similar to what XPInstall does with chrome packages.
Explicitly, what I have found is: a) In the "Creating XCOM Components" document, pg 160, says that the installation script "downloads the WebLock component and places it in the components directory". However the installation script given as example leaves the XPCOM component registration in blank: "// ? have to register component here or with regxpcom?" b) The book Creating Application with Mozilla, section 8.2.3 explains how to register a *local* XPCOM component with xpcshell. c) In two different mails I have seen the same question but without any answer. I would appreciate if someone could point me out how to tackle this issue.
