So I was wondering if there is a document that describes XPCOM thread-safety policies?
Is anybody here? Can somebody answer the question please? It's very discouraging if thread safety is "grey area" in XPCOM.
It's actually fairly well defined, it's just not very-well documented outside of reading the code. One page of documentation that you'll likely find helpful is <http://www.mozilla.org/projects/xpcom/Proxies.html>.
