HI BDS,

I have implemented  nsIObserver inteface to notify when xpcom-startup.

My component works well with Mozilla 1.7.3.

I suspected the component registration with firefox.

Correct me if i am wrong ?  Point me to any document for component registration ...

Thanks & Regards
Raghavan

Hi Vonuyx ,

Thanks for your information.

I did what you said, but while executing regxpcom i see my component registered properly (i gave prints inside the constructor , which got printed in the console). And i saw my component information in the compreg.dat file also.

But while executing firefox my component was not invoked.

What do you mean "invoke" your component? Just because your component is registered doesn't mean that Firefox/XPCOM is going to create it. You have to arrange for somebody to create your component in order to do something. You can do this through the xpcom-startup observer registration if you want to be created at every startup, or you can arrange to create your component through some user-interface code in your extension.
