I would like to know the XPCOM standalone status. The XPCOM standalone page (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/xpcom/xpcom-standalone.html) is not atualized since 2000. Is XPCOM 1.0+ now?
I'm developing a DCOM alternative, based in MSCOM, but Internet and HTTP friendly. Now I'm thinking about porting my efforts (IDL parser, proxy/stub generator and a TCP channel) to XPCOM and reuse its classes and parsers. XPCOM has the service concepts, and it's exactly what I need. Do anyone here use XPCOM stand alone? I think it's a very good architecture, too good to be used only by Mozilla.
