How to register a component

I developed a component (a .dll file)

According to documentation I just have to copy this .dll to the 'components' directory on firefox and run there the xpcomreg.exe

But it is not working. The Firefox seems not to be aware of it.

Do I have to do anything else ?

Any help appreciated
