Hi, thanks for the response. makeall.pl was indeed one of the files I edited (to change those variables at the top), and I did execute it before trying build_static.pl. However, nothing seemed to pick up on the changes I had made to gComponentList.
I think perhaps I should take a different approach - not try to repackage everything (which is fighting the tide) but instead just have the installer not ask what components to install.
