Bon dia,

Subject: Lightning extraction strings
To: [email protected]

Hi everyone,

As some of you might have already noticed bugs 403222 and 886124 added a
bunch of strings for Calendar localizers. These will help Lightning to
understand emails better so that often the user won't need to specify any
date and time information themselves when adding an email to their
calendar. See also https://groups.google.com/**forum/#!searchin/mozilla.dev.
**l10n/lightning/mozilla.dev.**l10n/nz4rmx2OHhE/70RYtQPxqIcJ<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/mozilla.dev.l10n/lightning/mozilla.dev.l10n/nz4rmx2OHhE/70RYtQPxqIcJ>for
previous discussion.

The user interface for extraction is not present in nightlies yet but you
can test your localization on Earlybird nevertheless. After translating all
of calendar.dtd and calendar.properties and at least some of
calendar-extract.properties you need to wait for the next nightly build to
appear at http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/**mozilla.org/calendar/**
lightning/nightly/latest-comm-**aurora-l10n/<http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/calendar/lightning/nightly/latest-comm-aurora-l10n/>and
install it as well as the temporary extension that adds UI from
http://tricky-bits.eu/event-**extract.xpi<http://tricky-bits.eu/event-extract.xpi>
.

You don't need to have invitations, event announcements etc to test. You
can write and save a draft invitation yourself. You can start with
something easy like "meet me tomorrow at...". To add this as an event or
task right-click on message header toolbar and add extraction buttons. The
extension will log some data to error console while converting which you
might find useful. You can see it by pressing Ctrl+Shift+J.

Important! For many languages previous localization exists which you can
probably use at least partially. See https://github.com/merike/**
event-extract/tree/master/**patterns<https://github.com/merike/event-extract/tree/master/patterns>
.

Questions? (not answered above or in localization notes)
