Talking of turntablism, check these turntablist videos. Just amazing.

But, I should think, in a 5-10 years time, that can be done with
digital equipment. At the moment, no, but really, I don't think it would
be very difficult to hook, say, a G4 Mac (or some other powerful
computer) with a turntable and a special record with some kind of cut up
sine wave or something. Then a software would analyze the incoming audio
signal to determine at which speed and to which direction the record was
being spun. (Finalscratch used light, but that is a more expensive
solution requiring not only a special record but a special cart, and it
cannot track (very well at least) cross-groove movement (if you would
want to, for some reason).) And then of course adjust the digital signal
accordingly.

> now playing: dj shadow: in flux

np. Freestylers: B-Boy Stance [Grooverider Vocal Mix]
oops, changed, now playing UNKLE: Drums of Death [Instrumental]

Here at work, Winamp is a bit less cumbersome way to listen to music
than a vinyl player.
