FIRST ONLINE RECORD COMPANY LAUNCHED
Echo And The Bunnymen and Rialto are both set to release new albums on the first ever online record company Gimme Music.
The label will not make use of conventional retail opportunities but will sell music via the Internet in the form of MP3 downloads and CDs via mail order.
It plans to keep prices lower than in the shops and on other Internet retail outlets as there is no distribution charge or shop mark-up.
Rialto's new mini-album, 'Girl on A Train', features six tracks and is their first since 1999's eponymous debut.
Meanwhile, Echo And The Bunnymen release a six song compilation. It'll feature version of Tim Hardin's 'Hang On To A Dream' and Bob Dylan's 'It's All Over Now Baby Blue'.
It'll also include a new Bunneymen song 'Avalanche' and three freshly recorded versions of the band's classic songs 'All My Colours', 'Silver' and 'Angels And Devils'.
