Which copyrighted material is not protected in Finland that it's protected in the US of A. Only big thing about copyrights between countries is that for exaple in Finland you own automaticly rigths to stuff you make (excluding if you sample or steal the work from another artist) but in the USA you have to copyright (claim the rights) your stuff. BUT basic rule in any country is that if it is PUBLISHED then somebody owns the copyrights. MP3.com has every right to block songs that uses samples from copyrighted movies. Look sometimes the end titles of a film and there's about 1 meter of different copyright laws. If you sample your friend's home movie and it's OK with your friend, then you can use it. But if you tape a home movie from TV then the broadcasting company or the makers of the show/program own the rights.
