mp3.com seems more and more justanotha typical net-hype bubble. I bet they
really wouldn't have the money to pay you, if you by accident succeeded to
earn some real money by DAM cd's.

mp3.com works for you as long as you don't get too popular.

BTW, Kosmic Free Music Foundation (http://www.kosmic.org) ended up into
similar situation a while ago. They moved their stuff to mp3.com, because
they were running out their own server storage space.

Because Kosmic was very popular in the mod scene already, they naturally got
loads of hits @mp3.com. So, mp3.com sent Kosmic a similar letter as to
Analog Pussy: "We suspect that you're using suspicious methods to get your
music to our top lists blah blah blah..."

In Kosmic case, they succeeded to clear the situation simply by discussing:
"Hey, we really _are_ popular. We already were before we came to mp3.com.
What's the matter with you?"

BTW, I didn't find Analog Pussy @ mp3.com anymore.
