It's starting to sound more like they're developing a military defence
system against galactic invasions than a music making software...

"About 2.5 years ago I was talking to Jeff (*) about going commercial with
Impulse Tracker 2 (It2.5 or it3). Anyway, he indicated he wasn't
interested at the time and so eventually I ran into Lada Lostak (Ray) and
the rest of the crew. Ray wanted to create the "perfect tracker" and had
bought the rights to the IT3 name from Jeff. We had also recieved bits of
IT2 source code as reference points. Anyway, I went to the Czech
Republic to discuss IT3 with Ray, Axl, and PG. I agreed to fund the project
and they would create the tracker. Ray hates throw away software development
and so he chose to create IT3 on top of a component system he was building.
This delayed IT3 (basically all the way up to the time of me writing this.)
Now, during this time the rest of the team was creating the Layouts, UI,
features and functions of the software. Thus, we should be able to quickly
deploy the IT3 product within a few months, and the IT3 DSPaudio team is
working on that. Now, About 6 months ago I became concerned that Ray's need
for the perfect dev environment would delay IT3 several years more than it
already had, and from my perspective a release of it might happen as late as
5 years."
