The whole idea of Aavepyr started off as an inside joke at the infamous
Kaitaan Lukio (from which I myself will graduate in a couple of weeks), and
has remained somewhat a joke ever since. Thanks to the net, aavepyr has
gained some underground support, though it has always been a lot more about
the "hey, who cares?"-attitude than any serious music making. I was a part
of Aavepyr in the beginning, when we had about thirty members, ten of
which were active producers. Aavepyr has since released at least five
CD's, which have sold surprisingly well (like, more than five copies=).

We used to play a lot of live-action roleplaying games back then, and we spent
a lot more time together at the time. Some of the Aavepyr members still
produce music, like Samu & Kim under the name 'Summamutikka'. And me, of
course, in other projects. When you understand the complex and old joke behind
all this, the music might sound a bit different too. I just don't think
that many
do.. =)

(And I can't blame them..)
